‘Shark Tank India’ Judges Namita Thapar, Ghazal Alagh Make The List Of Forbes Asia’s Power Businesswomen 2022

If you are someone who likes to binge-watch reality TV shows, then there is no chance that you haven’t watched Shark Tank India Season 1 which was all about innovating business ideas of aspiring Indian entrepreneurs (and lots of meme content). Well, speaking of Shark Tank India, the two female judges of the popular reality TV show – Namita Thapar and Ghazal Alagh recently got featured in the 2022 Forbes Asia’s Power Businesswomen list. They are making us proud!

On Tuesday, Forbes unveiled its Asia’s Power Businesswomen list for the year 2022. The list honours 20 outstanding women in business across the Asia-Pacific region and you will be glad to know that it featured three Indian women bosses as well. Shark Tank India judges Namita Thapar and Ghazal Alagh made the list. Soma Mondal, who is the chairperson of Steel Authority Of Indian Limited also joined them.

The first Indian woman named on the list is Ghazal Alagh, who is the co-founder and chief innovation officer of Honasa Consumer which is Mamaearth’s parent firm. She also started a Gurgaon-based company in the year 2016 with her husband Varun. This year, Ghazal Alagh’s company turned a unicorn.

The second Indian businesswoman on the list is Soma Mondal, chairperson of the Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL). She is the first woman to head this organisation and Forbes mentioned that since she became the chairperson of SAIL in the year 2021, its annual revenue has grown by 50 per cent which is so amazing, TBH. Namita Thapar is the third Indian woman to be named in Forbes Asia’s Power Businesswomen 2022 list. She is the executive director of Emcure Pharma.

All the business leaders picked by Forbes Asia in its November issue have come up with strategies that gave a boost to their businesses despite the uncertainty caused by the  Covid-19 pandemic. For the unversed, the 20 women who got featured are newcomers to the list.
