MP Woman Trying To Get Daughter Back From Ukraine Scammed Of ₹ 42,000 By Man Posing As PMO Staff

While a sceptic like me does tend to always look at humanity for the worse of it, I will admit that there are times when I am still surprised by how low we as a society can stoop. One major example of this was when women who posted their number online for help during the second Covid wave were showered with unsolicited dick pics. A similar case has come forth as this mother of an MP student claimed that she was scammed out of ₹ 42,000 by a man posing to be from the PMO and promising to bring her daughter back to India from Ukraine amidst the Russian invasion.

A mother of an MP student claims that she paid ₹ 42,000 to someone posing as the staff from the PMO to bring her daughter back home. She claims that despite paying the whole amount, she is yet to be given the tickets. The mother’s name is Vaishali Wilson who is a resident of Vidisha, has filed a complaint at Kotwali police station against a man named Prince. SI Shivendra Pathak said that investigations were underway and an FIR will be filed against the accused when there is enough evidence against him. He said according to The Free Press Journal, “The officials from the offices of aviation minister and commission for protection of child rights talked to ‘Prince’ on Wednesday. They were asked to stay assured about the tickets. Now the man is unreachable.”

Vaishali said that she was contacted by a man who introduced himself as Prince. He asked for  ₹ 42,000 for her daughter and daughter’s friend to be bright back to India from Ukraine. Vaishali allegedly paid the amount on Wednesday. Vaishali also said that Prince promised to send her the tickets at 4 pm on Wednesday. He then pushed the time to 5 pm, then 8 pm and then to 2 pm on Thursday. Vaishali says that Prince asked for the amount to be transferred to two different accounts but she has still not received the tickets from Ukraine.

Vaishali also said that she spoke to the chairman of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights named Priyank Kanungo. However, Priyank said that when he tried to track down an employee named Prince, he couldn’t find one.

Vaishali had recently filed a request on the CM helpline to help with her daughter’s return from Ukraine. The helpline asked her to file a complaint with the local police station in Ukraine. Srishti Wilson, her daughter, is an MBBS student from semester 5 and Vaishali is an employee at a blood bank in Vidisha.
