President Draupadi Murmu Says Women’s Education Will Increase Their Participation In Workforce But We Still Have A Long Way To Go

Education certainly empowers you and adds confidence to your personality. In fact, struggles in job markets become comparatively low if one has a strong educational background. Also, a country’s progress to a lot of extent matters on the education provided to its citizens. And it’s good to see that girls’ education is always given equal importance in our country now, and substantial steps are being taken to make it better. President Draupadi Murmu while addressing a speech at Mizoram University highlighted how educating girls will also make them eligible for jobs and that in return will increase their participation in the workforce.

President Draupadi Murmu marked her presence at the 17th Convocation ceremony of Mizoram University. In her speech, President Draupadi Murmu praised the institution for its excellent work in imparting education. She also highlighted that the hostels for the tribal girls that the University has opened are also a step towards encouraging women’s education by taking into consideration all the necessities apart from education. The President also appreciated the University for having an equal representation of girls and boys in the last session, as per the news.

Even though there are universities and schools doing well in taking encouraging steps for women’s education, as a whole India’s education still sees comparatively less participation of girls, especially in rural areas. Especially during the Pandemic, there were numerous reports that suggested that many girls dropped out of school due to various reasons. Such an alarming situation calls for urgent action. Because as the President of our country states, education is the base required to solve many problems women face, and also if the country has to progress, women’s education should progress too.
