The pandemic was a very tough time for all those who were working. With companies offering work-from-home, this work setting proved to be of great respite to women who had a lot of load to deal with on the domestic front as well. Even after the unlock phases which resumed offices, people still opted for the work from home setting or hybrid working system. The lockdown also caused many people to lose their jobs. But after things are slowly coming back on track, and people have resumed job hunting, it has been noticed that women are preferring organisations that are offering them to work from home.
As per a report by Economic Times, companies who have work from home, hybrid work or work from anywhere options open are seeing an increase in the number of applications received from women. The report also stated that these companies have also begun seeing better numbers in terms of gender diversity in their employees. Experts have also stated hiring women who are looking for a second career goes a long way for organisations and if they are offering flexibility in terms of the working style, then the female employees also tend to last longer at the place.
The CEO of Eruditus, Ashwin Damera, said that a lot of women applied at his organisation when they decided to adapt the work-from-home policy for an indefinite time. He also added that this policy of theirs has encouraged the female force to apply for jobs at his company. The report also quoted RPG Group’s chief talent officer, Supratik Bhattacharyya, saying that they have received positive feedback from women who have thanked them for making their workplace inclusive of them.
