MARD Party’s Manifesto States A Ministry Of Men Will Be Formed As Men Are Harassed A Lot And We Hardly Can’t With The Patriarchy!

We're so done with this misogyny!

I find it really amusing that every time in our country when we talk about women’s rights or talk about anything related to safeguarding women’s lives, some of the men in our country start talking about how badly even men are treated and how even they deserve some kind of protection. I mean, let’s face it, most laws and policies in our country do protect men and not women as much  – hence, the calling for new laws/policies. But clearly, this simple thing is missed by most, including the Mera Adhikar Rashtriya Dal (MARD) party who recently came up with a ‘manifesto for man’ and said that they will form a ministry for men if voted to power since a lot of men are harassed.

A little-known political party in Uttar Pradesh called, Mera Adhikar Rashtriya Dal (MARD), has recently come out and said that they will form a ministry for men that are harassed since they believe that a lot of men get harassed.

The MARD party that has announced 4 candidates for the upcoming UP assembly elections, will announce more candidates later. As of now, the national president of the party, Kapil Mohan Chaudhary said that if they are voted to power then they will form the Ministry of Men’s Welfare and National Commission for Men. This will be done so that men’s side could also be taken into consideration while forming any law and policy.

When speaking about the manifesto created by MARD, Kapil Mohan Chaudhary said, “policies concerning the well-being, security, and dignity of men will be made accordingly. Efforts will be made to bring the Men’s Security Bill.”

‘Manifesto for Man’ created by the MARD party also will introduce a men’s helpline to address the issues that men face due to some laws relating to women. According to Kapil Chaudhary those laws are biassed.

Kapil Mohan Chaudhary, national president of MARD party, went on to state the reason for entering the election process and that is, “It is to empathise and sympathise with half of the population. We are not against the empowerment of women. But, when in the name of women empowerment, harassment of men starts, we take exception to it. We are definitely in favour of positive empowerment of women such as education.”

MARD party president further went on to criticise Congress’ slogan ‘Ladki Hoon Ladh Sakti Hoon’ saying, “What is the point in using the word ‘ladhai” (fight). It can be ‘padhai’ (education). You should educate the girls. In this context, we can understand the good theme of ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ (campaign).” Reports suggest he further said that the anti-male propaganda needs to be stopped.

Honestly, just hearing about him going on and on about how we need policies and laws to safeguard men is irritating me. I’m not saying that men are not harassed, I’m just saying that there are pre-existing laws/policies that they can use if and when they’ve been wronged.
