Mahua Moitra’s Speech In The Parliament Was Interrupted Because She Was Not Speaking ‘Pyaar Se’. Why Can’t Women Be Passionate About Their Work?

Our society is not a big fan of strikingly bold women because she’s too opinionated. These strong independent women always speak their minds, believe in following their dreams and passion, and raise their voices against discrimination and injustice. But our society likes submissive and weeping women and that’s why Mahua Moitra got interrupted during her speech in the Parliament because of her angry tone. *shaking my head*
On Thursday, Member of Parliament Mahua Moitra of the Trinamool Congress was giving a speech at the Lok Sabha when BJP MP Rama Devi interrupted her speech before her allotted time of 13 minutes was over. After that, the Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker asked her to present her speech with love and said, “Mahua ji, thoda sa prem se boliye. Itna gussa mat kariya. Ache se boliye (Please talk in a mellow manner, don’t get angry. Say it in a good way).” Mahua smartly responded and said that her anger is coming from within and then continued the speech. Later, she expressed her anger on Twitter and questioned why her speech was cut off. “And who is Chair to interrupt me (taking up MY valuable time) to lecture me on whether I should speak with gussa or pyar? None of of your business Madam. You can only correct me on rules. You are NOT the moral science teacher for LS,” she wrote.
LS Speaker had alloted AT LEAST 13 mins to me, when confronted in his chamber he claimed he was not in chair hence cant be blamed.

When further cornered he said “It was my greatness that I even allowed you 13 mins in 1st place.”
Unbelievable.
And who is Chair to interrupt me (taking up MY valuable time) to lecture me on whether I should speak with gussa or pyar?

According to the reports, Moitra mentioned that she only had a paragraph left when the opposition interrupted her. After that, she protested and completed her speech outside the Parliament in front of the media.
This happens all the time when a woman crosses the boundaries created by society. We don’t understand why these people have a problem when a woman is passionate about her work and just doing her job. Society’s obsession with submissive and weeping women is such an age-old concept. They need to get over it now!
