In Japan, Furious Efforts Taken To Rescue ‘Drowning Woman’. It Turned Out To Be A Discarded Sex Doll

This is genuinely hilarious, not so much for the emergency team in Japan though who end up having an entire mission for what turned out to be a discarded sex doll. A YouTuber named Tanaka Natsuki was at the bizarre scene and went on to tell the tale so we can have that ‘hold my beer’ moment while being in the confinement of our mundane lives.

Natsuki saw cops, fire services and ambulances turning up at the scene and a big chaos happening. Someone must have noticed a drowning woman and called the emergency services. This was near the coast of Hachinoe in north east Japan.

With so much tension and a host of emergency personnel around, a huge crowd gathered hoping that the drowning woman would be rescued safely. And she did get rescued, except she wasn’t a woman at all. She was a sex doll that someone just discarded in the waters.

“While I was filming for my fishing video, I thought that a corpse had come floating by, but it turned out to be a Dutch wife,” Natsuki wrote in a tweet. “It seems someone misunderstood what it was and called the authorities, so a ton of police, fire trucks, and ambulances showed up. Thankfully the ‘wife’ was safely rescued. Nice,” she added. PS: the name of the sex doll is ‘Dutch Wife’.

The incident cracked netizens up and it got viral immediately! People said anyone could mistake the sex doll to be an actual woman. A user wrote, “Yup, I’d make the same mistake. If I were fishing alone at night and saw that, I’d pee myself.” Another person wrote, “It’s funny for sure, but not fun for the emergency services. Dispose of your garbage properly, people.”

Sex dolls are very common in Japan and the sales are simply going up by the year. In fact, a documentary called Substitues analyses the worrying trend in Japan saying it is igniting “a national mood of loneliness and alienation”. In fact, as women, what is more worrying is that these Japanese men claim to love these sex dolls because they apparently don’t get tired and can’t say no to their advances. Which means, ideally, if it wasn’t illegal, women’s consent would have been not taken into account. Of course, that happens but now it’s called criminal activity. If there was no law and order, how many of these men would not violate women’s consent?
