Plastic pollution is definitely at its worst, and while everyone’s trying to reduce their consumption of the dreaded material, what do you do with the tons of plastics you already have? The answer is a lot!
If you have a bunch of plastic bottles lying around your kitchen, don’t dunk them in the trash can just yet. Because the DIY junkie in me leaves no trash unturned, I’ve got you two super cool ways to recycle your old plastic bottles, and make the best use of them!
1. Jute Plant Holder
Things you will need:
- Plastic Bottle
- Jute Yarn
- Scissors
- Glue Gun
Steps to follow:
Step 1: Cut the bottle 1/3rd way through, and use the bottom half of it. Cut 5 vertical slits around the bottle. You can even cut more, but make sure that you cut an odd number of slits.
Step 2: Weave the jute yarn through each slit and work your way upwards.
Step 3: Apply glue at the rim of the container, and stick the jute yarn in place.
Make Up Brush Holder
Things you will need:
- 2 Plastic Bottles
- Zipper
- Glue Gun
- Scissors
- Pearls and Stickers
Steps to follow:
Step 1: Cut 2 bottles in half, one bigger than the other, depending on what you are going to store inside it. I placed my tallest makeup brush in the first one, and used it as a measurement to cut the other bottle.
Step 2: Apply some glue on the rim of both the bottles and stick the zipper on it.
Step 3: Decorate the surface of the bottle with some pearls and stickers (I used bindis).
