DIY: How To Make Ripped Jeans

Ripped jeans are super easy to make, and barely cost anything, especially if you are up-cycling an old pair. Here are a few easy steps that you can follow to create your own pair of ripped jeans, right from the comforts of your home!

Things You Need:

  • A pair of old jeans
  • Chalk
  • Scissors
  • Tweezers

Steps To Follow:

Step 1: Wear your pair of ripped jeans and stand in front of a mirror in order to mark all the areas where you would want to create the ripped effect. Use a chalk for this instead of a pen/pencil, so that the marks can be rubbed off later.

Step 2: Take a pair of sharp scissors and cut slits ofvarious lengths at the marks that you created.

Step 3: Use a pair of tweezers to remove the vertical strands of thread from the slits.

Step 4: Pull on the strands to loosen the area and keep plucking the strands till you can’t go any further.

Step5: Once you are satisfied with how your jeans look, toss them in the washing machine in order to get a rugged look; the threads will come loose further.
