Here Is How You Can Attend The Coldplay Concert For Free!

Yes, you read that right! Coldplay is coming to Mumbai this November and will be performing live on the 19th, straight out of MMRDA Grounds for fans here. We have been waiting very patiently for the UK-based band to officially come to India and now that it is finally happening, and we cannot keep calm! But that’s not even the best news. You can attend it for FREE! Yes, we kid you not. The previous rumour of the concert tickets costing a fortune sent more than a few people in a state of shock. Now that your kidneys are safe, read further to know how this miracle is possible.

Global Citizen is a global organisation that was formed in 2012 and its main aim is to eradicate world poverty by 2030. The charity organisation’s brand ambassador is Coldplay frontman, Chris Martin. And while he was in the country last year, he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss social issues, including Swachh Bharat, in a highly confidential meeting. And I guess, it has worked. Global Citizen is kick-starting its 15-year campaign to eradicate poverty via India first, through a massive charity concert and who better than Coldplay to create the buzz. But that’s not all. American hip-hop mogul Jay-Z will also be headlining the concert alongside Coldplay. Now if that isn’t a double whammy, we don’t know what is!

Tickets for this epic concert can be earned by doing some social actions that are good for society. Basically, you earn a point every time you do a social action as suggested by the charity organisation. When you bag 16 points, you are eligible for a draw. Every two weeks a lucky winner will be announced. Yeah, the chances are looking a little slim, but then again it’s worth a shot, no?

First, sign up on the website and register yourself. The site is now live, so I suggest you go sign up now! This makes you a Global Citizen and you become a part of the initiative. You will also have to download the mobile app that will have all instructions on how to take part in this noble cause. The organisers will track your actions through the app, and every time you complete a social cause, you earn a point. The list of actions is available on the app and will change every two weeks. It goes something like this — share an image of a book that you think kids all over the world should read, and give your reasons for the same. You need to be highly active on social media platforms for this, especially Twitter.

80% of the tickets are going to be given out through this draw, while the rest can be bought, the exact prices of which have not yet been disclosed. Apart from Coldplay and Jay-Z, Aamir Khan, AR Rahman, Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Farhan Akhtar, among several other Bollywood names, will perform at the charity event. Reports say that Ranveer Singh will open the 6-hour long festival. In short, the organisers are not leaving any stone unturned to make sure the event is a major, major hit.

Interestingly, November 19 is World Toilet Day, and focuses on spreading awareness about sanitation and cleanliness, which ties in well with the larger cause of making the world poverty free. Given the scale of this charity event, it sure looks like this campaign is on the road to success. A little patience and good work can help you make a difference in the world, and give you the chance to watch some amazing acts live! How can this get any better?
