If anyone asks me what my weekend plans are, it is either attending a wedding or going to a party. December is all about partying and looking your absolute best. Now, it’s all well and good till you’re not the one hosting the party. The real deal happens when you’re on the other side. From planning the decorations to picking out the snacks, everything has to be on point. But what really — and I mean really — matters are the drinks. Everyone forgets about everything else once they are a drink or two down. And making the same old ones just won’t do. Spice things up and experiment a little, won’t you?

1. Sparkling Clementine Thyme Cocktail

This refreshing drink literally takes 5 minutes to make. The orange juice with a tinge of herby flavour will keep you going instead of making you feel tardy.

Method:

Fill the glass with ice, an orange slice, and pomegranate seeds. Add the vodka to the glass and top with 6 ounces of sparkling clementine juice. Garnish with lemon thyme. And done!

2. Red Hot Santa Tini Cocktail

What is the festive season without some chocolate, and who said your drinks cannot have some in it? This tasty cocktail with chili infused vodka and chocolate liqueur will you have you reaching for another round in no time! The chili infused with vodka will take about three days of prep, but I promise it’s so worth it. All you have to do is let the ingredients sit in a glass of vodka for 3-5 days.

Ingredients:

Method: Mix some cocoa powder together with a pinch of cayenne pepper, and rim a chilled martini glass with it. Shake the vodka up with the chocolate liqueur and pour the mixture into the glass. Top it off with the whipping cream and garnish by floating the chili pepper on top of the cream.

3. Chambord Kir Royale

Christmas is all about happiness and luxury, so to spend on great quality alcohol once in a while is okay, right? Invest in a Kir Royale and make the best cocktail you have ever tasted!

Ingredients:

Method: Add the liqueur to a flute and top with Champagne. Garnish with a raspberry and a lemon twist.

4. Hot Buttered Rum

And we cannot miss out on rum! The ultimate winter drink that will instantly warm you up and at the same time play wonderfully in your mouth, this has to be on you menu.

Ingredients:

Method: Over a low heat, melt the butter in a pan with the sugar and cloves. Turn off the heat and add the Bacardi Carta Negra and stir well. Pour the contents through a sieve into a mug or toddy glass and top with hot water to taste. Garnish with a cinnamon stick and grated nutmeg.
