7 Daily Habits You Need To Follow For A Clutter-Free Life

If there was an award for procrastination, I would win it. In fact, I would make a clean sweep of it. Stuff like cleaning my room is always a task for another day in the future that doesn’t ever come around. I want to say there is a method to the madness, but there really isn’t. More often than not, I end up on a treasure hunt for my favourite mascara, one abandoned sock or a strap of a bra. Living a clutter-free life is the solution to all of those problems but I may or may not be ready for it. But we can all do it and helps a ton. Ask me. I made this change and it worked like a dream. The key is to practice these habits on a day to day basis, which will really add up in the long run.

Starting your day right will definitely give you a great kick start but make sure you take that through your day as well. Here are 7 daily habits that we can all inculcate in our routine.

1. Make Your Bed

Make your bed each morning since there is no better feeling than to come back home to a clean room at the end of the day. Also, all the clutter on the bed that you have to sift through in the morning might mean something that needs to go for a wash actually makes it there.

2. Clear Out Your Inbox

As soon as you reach work, make sure to read all your emails and reply back to all the emails that you can, and mark the ones you would get to, later during the day. Except those that offer you a million dollars, those are fake.

3. Make A To-Do List

Once you have been given the tasks for the day, make a to-do list and plan your schedule so that you know exactly what you have to do at what time. And actually follow it.

4. Get Rid Of Junk

After you go and grab lunch, make sure you put all your food receipts properly in an envelope instead of dumping them in your bag. No, you’re never going to need them so stop saving them anyway.

5. Put Things Back In Their Place

At the end of the day, put away all your clothes, shoes, and accessories in the exact spot that you picked them up from. Saying you are too tired at the end of a long day is just an excuse.

6. Don’t Procrastinate

If you have bills to pay, any email to respond to, or run any errands make sure you complete that before the end of the day instead of dragging it forward to the next day. Say it with me, ‘Do it today.’

7. Pick Up A Weekly Task

Set up a day each week for cleaning you shoe closet or emptying out your makeup drawer, or even cleaning out the photo gallery on your phone. It helps. Also, nobody needs 40,000 selfies. Just saying.
