There are two kinds of people – the ones that live to eat and the ones that eat to live. Either way, the general consensus is, that food is a vital part of our lives. Not just in a capacity of keeping us alive (which it does!) but also because the kind of food we eat, has some interesting and in quite a few cases, an arousing effect on our body. And we aren’t talking about just french fries which honestly should be elevated to the status of divine for just existing but we digress. There are foods that help in getting that mojo going and boost our sex drive.

Of course, this conjures up images of a woman popping grapes seductively into her mouth, but there are foods other than grapes that get you, well, all ready!

Chilli Peppers

Add some spice to your life, in the most literal sense. Hot chilli peppers are known for stimulating the nerve endings on the skin, bringing in rush of adrenalin and causing an increased heart rate. We are thinking sweaty, intense sex sessions.


The phallic shaped fruit that is code for arousal, both by the looks and taste of it. Bananas are used to increase the sex drive of a man, by elevating the testosterone production and boosting that energy level! So if you’re not a fan, you might want your man to be.


It has been called honeymoon with good reason. For starters, honey is a literal byproduct of procreation by the bees. It regulates the estrogen and testosterone levels, thus almost prepping them up for a session in the sack.


The pink, pretty and almost heart-shaped fruit could easily be what love potions are made of. The delightful and sweet taste lightens up the mood and increases blood flow, making you all the more energetic for what is to come next. Just dip it in hot chocolate, and you’re set for a sweet salvation.

Whipped cream has a place of pride in the bedroom and with good reason. Already the use of the word whipped is tantalising, add to that the creaminess and you have a recipe for sweet, sweet orgasms.


This is a vitamin-rich fruit that increases your heart rate and can set you up for the night. Best and possibly the tastiest way to get into the mood is to pop a few cherries!
