The Face Shop Rice Water Cleansing Oil: Is It The Makeup-Buster You Need?

By  |

Psst. I want to let you in on a secret. I have been on a diet for the past 18 years or something. Don’t let that worry you because literally nothing has changed. Yes, all the fat is still there, loyal and stubborn as ever. Of course, this means that I have been through a gamut of diets. In one, I didn’t have any carbs, in one I abandoned wheat and in another one, I gave up my sanity. I will take any advice so when someone said avoid rice (I believed them because they nodded sagely when they said it,) I said okay, and have been doing that for a while. Still, nothing has changed.

So when I was handed The Face Shop Rice Water Cleansing Oil, I approached it with caution. I mean, I don’t want my face to be fat. Okay, we are pushing it here. This is a cleansing oil that is supposed to take off makeup in a jiffy, so you can hit the bed quickly and actually make it to work without looking like you’ve been in a boxing bout.

I really put this to the test. First, I tested waters with easy makeup but then I dialled it up with waterproof makeup finished off with a setting spray and all that. Yes, I am thorough and proud. The Face Shop Rice Water Cleansing Oil performed like a miracle, going about its job , swift and perfect. It was all looking good. Hmm, I thought. this could actually work.

Then, as all good things must come to an end, this fantastic run did as well. Two baby pimples appeared on my cheeks the next day and I drowned them in tea tree oil. But with nothing else in my skincare regime changed, I knew the new cleansing oil was to blame.

Maybe it is because I have sensitive skin or one that reacts quite quickly, but this one didn’t cut it for me.
