I was recently vacationing in London when I bought my first-ever pair of boots — well, booties. I kid you not, they were my FIRST EVER pair. I’ve never been much of a boots person — I mean, I live in Bombay, for crying out loud. This city has no weather for them shoes. But I saw this pair and fell in love, and wore it that very night. And since then, I’ve been hooked.
So since Durga Puja is coming up and I need to kickstart my shopping for this year (we keep count of how many clothes and shoes we buy, OK!) I decided I absolutely needed one more pair of booties. And there they were, looking back at me lovingly, urging me to swipe my card. Clearly, there was a higher power at work so who am I to fight it?
Also, how hot are these? Moreover, these are the perfect pair of booties for Bombay weather — the cutwork on the side and the peep-toe mean your feet will get plenty of ventilation and not melt into puddles of sweat. But my favourite part about this pair is the gold heel and sole — black and gold is a fail-proof combo. The heel is slightly thicker so it’s comfort guaranteed. You can wear them with jeans, a skirt, a dress, culottes — you name it. Plus they are on sale, so I would suggest, chop chop!
