My sister is a beauty blogger, which means she’s obsessed with all things makeup, especially nail paints. Which also means I’m constantly showered with numerous ones in various hues — more than I can use or store.
But, as much as I hate to admit it, her love for varnish has rubbed off on me (only slightly, though). When it comes to my nails, I’m quite particular about the shape and colour — that’s about it. I have the terrible habit of biting my cuticles (*avoids all friends’ glares*), so I’m not one to dole out advice on nail care. While I hate the process of getting a manicure (raise your hands if you equate filing your nails to scratching a chalkboard — eeshk!), I do, however, feel pleased when my nail polish is new and shiny, aka post-mani.

Named the Colorbar Heavy Metal Nail Lacquer in the shade Garnet Mist (isn’t that creativity at its best?), this nail polish is not only a lovely yet haute red, but the slight metallic glint is what I love. Metallic nail paints are the best — they often distract me when I watch the colours reflect in the light (*facepalm*). Most importantly, it is only 300 bucks. Seriously, do you need any more convincing?
Pro Tip: Buy a nail polish thinner so that all your nail paints last longer.
