Last night, Bollywood celebrities made a statement in their sartorial best at the Elle Beauty Awards 2023. In attendance were the Hindi film industry’s most popular names, who wore the trendiest looks to mark their presence. From trendsetting silhouettes, and glittery trails to peppy accessories, celebrities from Bhumi Pednekar to Janhvi Kapoor, were amongst the worst-dressed stars on the red carpet. Well, here’s who wore the most boring, blah and unattractive outfits.

Janhvi Kapoor

Always channelling an old-school Hollywood glam vibe, Kapoor walked the red carpet wearing a glitter-loaded silver gown. The side-cut, sexy silhouette on her featured a thigh-high slit and a one-shouldered detail. Besides her boring choice, Kapoor uninterestingly styled the entire look with simple open hair and her signature high-on shine makeup look.

Surveen Chawla

Styled by Sukriti Grover, Chawla worked around a combination of black and Barbie pink to attend the beauty awards. Surveen’s look featured a front-open bustier bodice and a sexy side-slit pink skirt with ruching on the waist. The look was probably not the best fit for Surveen and was accessorised with a silver choker design.

Bhumi Pednekar

Bhumi is enjoying her most stylish era this year, with experimental couture and out-of-the-box designs. For the red carpet appearance, Pednekar wore an Andrea Brocca attire. The black, structural design on her featured monumental, balloon extensions on the waist, a horn-ended neckline and a long-trailing veil, wrapped around her neck. While the structured outfit looked vague and absurd on the actress, she further skipped on accessories, which made the ensemble look incomplete.

Rakul Preet Singh

While Rakul Preet Singh loves to experiment on a usual day, her red carpet look for the beauty awards was visibly boring. Taking the conventional route, Singh picked a baby pink tulle gown and channelled the Disney princess aesthetic. Topping it all up with a pair of pearl ear studs, Rakul styled the ensemble with hair tied into a top knot and minimal makeup.

Divya Khosla Kumar

Khosla Kumar made it to the red carpet wearing a dazzling red couture gown featuring a detailed sequin bodice and a long trailing fabric train. What we did not like about her look was the ill-fitted tailoring and the addition of finger-less gloves, which made her ensemble look pretty dated.
