Winter season is here and all we can think 0f choosing cosy fabric options to step out in. For most of India, this season holds a special spot in our wardrobes, as it requires shoppers to make a drastic change in their wardrobe. With respect to colours and choice of fabrics, there is a lot that one needs to think about, before making a purchase. Velvet being the best pick for this weather, remains a popular fabric choice in the closets of most celebrities. Making velvet an important member of their ethnic wardrobes, especially for weddings, celebrities like Alia Bhatt and Kajol, have recently shown us an easier way of styling this fabric. Wanna know how? Take a look.
Sanya Malhotra
Curating the Punjabi suit swag with the cosiness of winter velvet, Sanya dished out a fabulous ethnic look in a suit. For the promotion of Sam Bahadur, the actress picked an aubergine velvet kurta, featuring a v-neckline, borders and bell sleeves. She teamed the Shades Of India number with matching velvet pants and an off-coloured, beige dupatta, silver jewellery, and hair styled into a neat bun.
Alia Bhatt
For her time at the NMACC, the actress made an appearance with husband/actor Ranbir Kapoor in a velvet suit set. Her velvet, dark blue kurta was a simpler spin on the trend, with a dainty embroidered neckline, and matching, wide-legged pants featuring floral embroidery work. She further styled the look using a sheer, organza dupatta in blue, with gold scalloping. For accessories, the actress trusted her engagement ring, a simple black bindi and shoulder-grazing earrings.

Kajol
Kajol’s approach to styling one comes in the bright shade of deep maroon. She trusts a signature Sureena Chowdhri kurta set in red, featuring symmetrical trails of golden leaf embroidery, dainty floral details and sleeve work. Teaming the same with equally statement velvet pants, the actress skipped on the traditional dupatta and styled the look with open hair and gold jewellery.
