I, for one, am a massive fan of the lovely Indian jutti! These desi babies are so comfortable and look utterly gorgeous at the same time. As much as I love a little blingy heel with my Indian attire, juttis somehow take the cake for me. For one, I can stand for long hours (greeting those annoying neighborhood aunties, we all know what that’s like) and secondly, dancing in them is such a breeze. Whether it’s the mirror work or the fine embroidery — you can go crazy with a pair and still keep the tradition going. I mean, it totally won’t look odd wearing fruit print juttis right? Just a little desi twist there! Juttis amp up your clothing, without leaving you with those awful shoe bites your new heels would otherwise have. Adding that Indian ethnic oomph to your saree, patiala or salwar, juttis are the perfect desi shoes to wear during Diwali. Unlike the shiny shoes and heels that can only be worn once in a while, the jutti is multipurpose. Pair it with your jeans or skirt on a normal day, and you’ll be good to go!
