However, things turned sour when an outfit worn by actor Ju Ji Hoon, who will play the role of Soveishu, raised some eyebrows.

The reaction to the still images of The Remarried Empress was generally positive. Fans loved the star-studded cast featuring Lee Jong Suk, Shin Min Ah, Ju Ji Hoon and Lee Se Young, who looked regal in their royal outfits. However, some noticed a detail in Ju Ji Hoon’s outfits that sparked controversy. One of the accessories that Ji Hoon was wearing in the image looked similar to a Nazi medal.
Online commenters shared side-by-side comparisons of the on-screen prop and the Nazi medal and expressed their disappointment and frustration at the slip-up, wondering how such a harmful thing could be overseen by the team, especially in a high-budget K-drama.
After the outrage grew, The Remarried Empress’ production team, Studio N, issued a statement acknowledging the criticism. They said that the team has taken the issue very seriously and will be implementing stricter review procedures to prevent something like this from happening again.
Adapted from a popular web novel and comic of the same name, The Remarried Empress follows an intelligent Empress named Navier (played by Shin Min Ah), who seeks a divorce from her husband, Emperor Soveishu (played by Ju Ji Hoon), who becomes involved with a woman named Rashta (played by Lee Se Young). Navier demands remarriage to Prince Heinrey (played by Lee Jong Suk) of the Western Kingdom as a term of separation.
