We Can’t Be The Only Ones Who Want To See Suhana Khan In Fresh Colours For Weddings, Right?
Shahrukh Khan’s daughter is in the news again. And this time because she’s attending a wedding in Kolkatta. On its own, it’s not news but given that she’s at a wedding and that we get to talk about her clothes like some sort of fashion police has us all excited. Oh don’t sit there and judge, you know you love doing it too.
‘Wedding Fashion’ is a very serious topic among desis. A big fat Indian wedding calls for equally elaborate outfits, jewellery and shoes! It is not just the weddings we personally attend that get us all excited, we can get into a detailed discussions about any strangers’ wedding outfits. And if there’s a celebrity involved, we have some very serious opinions.
Suhana Khan is living it up at her cousin’s wedding as she should and her sartorial choices have gotten us thinking.

This is a girl with access to the designs of some of the coolest people in the world. Money and connections are not a problem. Then why does Suhana seem to favour drab colours?
The 19-year old seems to weary of experimenting with fresher colours; most of her looks feature a bunch of greens in different shades. At this wedding, she put up a picture clad in a seaweed green and red saree, hardly colours we would pick for a vibrant teenager. We love the fact that she chose a saree over the more easy-going lehenga, but maybe a brighter yellow or a floral number would have worked better for a summer wedding?

Suhana wore another green number, this time a sequinned salwar suit for a different ceremony. We are starting to see a pattern in her wedding fashion preferences and we can’t say we love it. She made an appearance in another wedding a while back and that was a light green beaded lehenga. You see what we are playing at?

We totally understand. Green is her fave and she feels most comfortable in it. But Suhana is young and fun (from the looks of it) and we know for a fact that she is more than capable of pulling off experimental looks with ease. Blessed with an enviable dusky complexion, Suhana is the perfect person to showcase how wedding fashion can be versatile, especially for a young person.

In the popular, but controversial, Vogue feature on Suhana, the good folks over at the magazine managed to hit a good note with her styling. She’s looks fabulous in the bright hues so we know that it’s not like she can’t wear these. Bold designs and warm colours suit her well, an advantage she can use to update her ethnic wear collection.
