We Just Can’t Get Over Sonam Kapoor’s Covetable Jewellery!

We Just Can’t Get Over Sonam Kapoor’s Covetable Jewellery!

The rest of the world can go ahead and swoon over Sonam Kapoor’s wardrobe, but today we’re taking a break from doing that. Instead, we’re turning the spotlight on her jewellery. If you’ve been following Sonam’s style as keenly as us, you’ll know why she’s such a bonafide trendsetter —  standing out from the crowd is what she excels in. But an eagle-eyed fashionista wouldn’t miss all the lovely baubles she’s been wearing in recent months. From fine jewellery to affordable trinkets, we’ve seen her rocking those pieces effortlessly. Keep reading as we show you some covetable jewellery that the stylish actress has in her bauble box!

If there’s one pair of earrings that are wardrobe classics, they’ve got to be hoops. And chand baalis are our desi take on the global trend.  What’s more, there’s not one outfit you can’t team with evergreen hoop earrings. Add them to an ethnic ensemble or just work it with fusion wear, they’re perfect no matter what the occasion. While Sonam’s double palla sari by Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla is the star attraction in itself, she ensures that her jewellery is complementary. These stunning pearl-encrusted hoops by Sunita Kapoor Fine Jewellery deserves space in any jewellery box, no?

Statement neckpieces have been the deal for a while now, and there’s no budging from that. And not every statement neckpiece has to be chunky or adorn your sternum. Delicate pieces that are striking enough also make the cut. As far as this look by Sonam is concerned, the fluidity of that P.E.L.L.A. outfit could only be matched by a neckpiece that is dainty but also leaves an impression. This neckpiece by genius jewellery designer Suhani Pittie is extremely eye-catching. White and gold make for a perfect combination, and that’s exactly what Sonam worked to perfection here.

Sonam completed her Natasha Davda Indo-western ensemble with these chunky Pacman earrings by Dhora. I have always been a fan of the handcrafted jewellery by duo Aavriti R Jain and Siddharth Daspan. And if minimalism defines your style, these will be an instant “add to cart” item. The actress also added a gold and silver bib neckpiece by Amrapali to her attire. While the neckpiece does spell traditional, it blends well as a contemporary piece too. Also, the minimal brooches are perfect trinkets to add to your fusion wear.

Cascading earrings are all the rage this season. Gucci, Marni, Oscar de la Renta, Balmain; you name the designer and we’ll give you runway evidence for the same. And all that 70s inspiration has not faded away just yet, which is why tasselled cascading earrings are quite the talk among the fashion crowd. Sonam opted for a simple desi outfit by Rashmi Varma, and that outfit needed an accessory that would get the world to stand still and notice. These tasselled earrings made all the difference to the look. A bold call, don’t you think? But when it’s Sonam, expect the unexpected.

While promoting her film Neerja, Sonam donned an H&M dress that she teamed with a pair of heeled boots by Stuart Weitzman. What we had our eyes on though was that stunning neckpiece from Anita Dongre’s Grassroots line. A bold single pendant neckpiece can elevate even the most basic outfit. And this silver pendant with vibrant resham threads that are bound together with jute fibres is such a striking piece to own.

Chokers clearly ruled the ramps last season and are the jewellery trend du jour right now, but this dainty piece is beyond STUNNING. The delicate choker from jeweller extraordinaire Nirav Modi’s Lotus collection is made of white and rose gold, and has diamonds nested within it. Now that’s a piece I don’t mind saving up for. (Also, future husband: Are you seeing this?)

Another piece I would LOVE to borrow from Sonam’s jewellery box is this stunning neckpiece from Apala’s Egyptian collection. The sculptural choker — which she teamed with a DRVV shirt dress — is made up of multiple golden strands adorned with Egyptian pharaoh motifs in silver. Now if that’s not a drool-worthy piece, I’d want to know what is! Sonam schools us on how to complete a simple check shirt dress (that you’ll totally find in your wardrobe) with a statement neckpiece. Don’t have a checked shirt dress? Just accessorise the piece with a plain white shirt and formal trousers and you’ll be golden!
