2 Things We Loved About Sonakshi Sinha’s All-White Saree Look And 1 We Can Do Without.

What do you get when you mix the simple charm of Rekha’s all-white saree in Silsila (1981) and Priyanka’s cocktail saree in Dostana (2008)? A sexy drape that we can wear for a party or a puja, no judgments!

Sonakshi Sinha agrees with our assessment because she knocked it out of the park with her all-white saree look for the Dabangg 3 trailer launch yesterday. The actress kept her ensemble looking pristine white head-to-toe and we can’t help but crush on the look so hard. Normally, an all-white look will give me anxiety cuz’ what if I look like Elsa from Frozen…or worse, the Snowman? Sonakshi, on the other hand, had no qualms about doing it because of all the fabulous styling details that made it work.

So without further ado, here are the two things we loved about Sona’s look and one we think should sashay away!

The White Drape

The white saree from Mala & Kinnary label is exactly the kind of pearly sarees we look for to replace the heavier drapes. The sleek pleating and casual pallu keeping it sexy, a bralette blouse being a great addition to the mix.

The Matching Accessories

It can get tricky accessorizing a white saree. We can break the theme and bring in gold or muti-cloured bling. Or just put on some pearls and call it a day. We loved Sonakshi’s version the best though…a mix of pearl and platinum trinkets with a gajra and matching shoes. The simple and dewy makeup completes the look with a subtle glam that is difficult to come by.

Having said that, there is one thing we can do without in Sonakshi’s look, and that is…

The Cape

Don’t get us wrong, we love a well-put-together caped look. A popular trend we anticipate to see this bridal season, capes work well when we hope to elevate a simple saree or an Indo-western look. On Sonakshi though, we would have loved to see just the saree do its thing. There is so much going on with her look already, the cape just looks like an unnecessary add-0n rather than an essential part of the ensemble. In the words of the great Edna Mode, we say, “No Capes!”.

On the work front, Sonakshi is all set to reprise her role of Rajjo in Dabangg 3 with Salman Khan. Check out the newly released trailer below:
