5 Shoe Styles You MUST TRY In 2016
If being fashionably fabulous is marked on your calendar for all 365 days of the year, then 2016 is going to be a great year for you. And if you’re a shoe lover like us, here’s a little good news: The shoe styles for this year are oh-so-chic. Forget eccentric, we’re noticing a pack of comfortable pairs that not only look sophisticated but you can strut around in them all day. Runway trends across SS2016 shows were dominated by these five styles, so here’s our list of of the must-try (and must-buy) shoe styles of 2016.
1. Mule Slides
Touted as the IT style of 2016, we’re looking forward to seeing a host of celebrities parading in these comfortable mule slides. As far as the runway is concerned, we saw a range of mules across design houses, including Thakoon’s mule booties, woven mules at Proenza Schouler, furry ones at Maison Margiela and more.
Be it Louis Vuitton or Chanel, flatforms continued to be a rage on the SS16 runway. Pair these with culottes or a midi dress, and you’re bound to rake up style points. A must-have: wooden flatforms (as seen in Stella McCartney’s show).
3. LOW HEELS
Love low heels? Spring 2016 witnessed a slew of designs as far as this shoe style is concerned. Be it Oxfords with just a little heel as seen at Michael Kors or Victorian-style low-heeled boots like the ones in Derek Lam’s show, this is a must-have in 2016.
4. STYLISH SNEAKERS
Sneakers have been in vogue for the past few seasons, and it seems like they’re here to stay (yay!). From metallic shoes to fabric styles like denim, an array of fashionable kicks will rule the shoe department this year as well.
5. BACKLESS SHOES
Proenza Schouler, Givenchy, Hugo Boss and Gucci all showcased the backless shoe on the Spring 2016 runway. This minimal style is très chic and very feminine.
