When Hauterfly caught up with Shilpa Shetty and questioned her about, what’s up with her contemporising the saree, she said- “I don’t know about contemporising it, but, I like to be a trendsetter. I like to do stuff that people haven’t done, so I do it with the idea of doing that. Because otherwise, you tend to get very repetitive.
She further added that- “Instead of following the current trends and trying to keep up, I try to do what is comfortable and what I enjoy wearing. And I love the saree as an attire, and look for ways of how differently can you drape the saree.”
“So I welcome designers to send me stuff that work in that direction, and people love it and I think a saree is one of those garments that will always remain timeless.” Well, we couldn’t agree more!
