Sabyasachi Is All Set To Launch An International Wedding Line 

Becoming the coveted “Sabyasachi Bride”  is an aspiration for many. Almost every young girl dreams of being a Sabyasachi bride on her big day! But what about those brides and brides-to-be, who aren’t going to wear a colourful or heavily embroidered lehenga, but an elegant white gown instead, on their special day? Well, Sabyasachi has something in store for you too!

After launching his own heritage jewellery line, and even venturing into home furnishings, designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee is now ready to make his the next move. Joining hands with a Hong-Kong based company, Lane Crawford, that sells designer labels and luxury goods, Sabyasachi is all set to launch an international bridal line for white weddings. After all, the Sabyasachi bride shouldn’t just be limited to India.

Sabyasachi will stick to the same methods and workmanship that he is known for, but his designs will now be moulded to international tastes and sensibilities. For the 45-piece collection, the designer has taken inspiration from Mary Poppins and Edwardian fashion, the 1920s, bohemian artists, flapper girls, speakeasies, and destination weddings. His idea is to romances history through a modern lens.

The ace designer will be crafting garments using fabrics like tea-dyed muslin, embroidered tulle, and exquisite brocade. The embellishments will be all about minute pearl work, silk-floss thread embroidery, semi-precious stones, silver thread and cut-glass beads, among other crafts.
