Here’s Your Festive Style Guide To Slaying Kanjeevaram Sarees Like Rekha
She looks lovely!

Legendary actress Rekha is not just known for her impactful performances in films, but also her fine taste in silk sarees. Her collection of kanjeevaram drapes displays her idea of embracing Indian weaves and textiles to the fulled. Perfect for the upcoming season of festivities, a silk saree in your closet can be styled in a variety of new ways for multiple occasions. And as we get closer to the festive season, let’s take a look at how to style a kanjeevaram saree from the OG.
Bright Silk
Rekha’s selection of a bright green and orange saree was styled with traditional floral jewellery. Here, the three-toned fabric was enhanced with colourful neckpieces and earrings, alongside a floral gajra decorating her hair bun. She further styled the look with an embroidered orange potli, her signature red lip shade and a stack of bangles.
A Churidaar Spin
Another way of styling a silk saree is to add a pair of ivory churidaar to the same, alongside a hint of gold and shimmer base. The unique way of draping here was accessorised with a matching potli bag, gold jewellery including shoulder grazing earrings, a maang tika, and red lip colour.
Going OTT
For the opening ceremony of NMACC, Rekha ji made a spectacular appearance in a silk saree, with a matching floral green, full-sleeved blouse. She accessorised the same with a unique matha patti, gold neckpiece, styled with a tiny bindi and a tapestry clutch.
Unique Draping
Go ahead with a unique spin on draping, and try this front pallu saree like Rekha. For minimalists, this approach of draping one, can be styled using a pallu around the neck, with a sheer blouse. Furthermore, you can go easy on your choice of jewellery and add a subtle bag and earrings.
