India has been home to many models who have made it big in Bollywood. Before we saw some of Hindi cinema’s biggest stars on the big screen, they started their journeys on the fashion ramp. A route to later getting into films was an exercise almost each of these actors attempted at. From Priyanka Chopra to Milind Soman, the era of India’s iconic models from the late 80s and 90s are still some of the most iconic names in the world of fashion. And reminiscing the golden era is this Reddit thread. To be honest, this thread on Reddit is filled with nostalgia.
Reacting to the pictures, many Redditors talked about these models as they see them today. Recognising Rahul Dev on the left, many pointed at him as the villain in South Indian films today. Take a look at some of these reactions.
Many also added names to the list of supermodels and mentioned Milind Soman, Bipasha Basu, Arjun Rampal and his ex-wife Mehr Jesia. One comment also reminded us of Milind Soman’s iconic brand campaigns, an almost-naked shoot, and of course, him being *the actual plot* in the iconic singer–Alisha Chinai’s popular music video–Made In India in the year 1995.
As the attention shifted away from Rahul, some redditors reminisced that time in Indian fashion industry, and reacted to how some of these actors looked like, back in the day.

As mentioned in the thread, some others also reminisced about the era of supermodels like Feroze Gujral, Anna Bredemeyer (the First Indian Supermodel), Indrani Dasgupta and more. While most models from the era switched gears from the ramp to acting, a few continued to work in the fashion industry and grew as show choreographers, and got involved in pageantry. Here’s what they look like today.
