Film producer and distributor Ramesh Taurani hosted one of Bollywood’s biggest Diwali parties last night and had most stars walking the red carpet in mesmerising outfits. In attendance were Katrina Kaif, Salman Khan, Pooja Hegde and some of the Hindi film industry’s biggest names. While most made a fabulous sartorial decision, a few dropped fashion faux pas-laden looks, and disappointed fans. Here’s a look at the best and worst-dressed guests at the Diwali party.
BEST DRESSED
Katrina Kaif
The actress arrived in the colour of the season, wearing a muddy brown Sabyasachi lehenga. The actress’ ensemble incorporated of a full-sleeved blouse, pleated, multi-coloured lehenga, punctuated with a gold-bordered, sheer dupatta. The actress further completed the look with a bindi and tiny drop earrings.
Pooja Hegde
Ms Hegde made a spectacular choice in a printed co-ordinated set. The piece from Ritu Kumar’s couture line included a full-sleeved blouse, with a closed neckline, and embroidered sleeve cuffs, teamed with a draped skirt, which followed a similar print design. The actress further accessorised the look with a tiny clutch handbag and matching jhumkas.
Jackie Shroff
Apna Bhidu AKA Jackie Shroff made a stylish appearance in a menswear staple bandhgala jacket, teamed with white pants. Accompanying the legendary actor was his pet plant, and dashing black sunglasses.
Anil Kapoor
Kapoor proved great style runs in the khandaan, as he walked the red carpet in a printed, floral-detailed, anti-fit kurta. He further teamed his ethnic special fit with an off-white salwaar, and completed the ensemble with tan brown flats.
WORST DRESSED
Salman Khan
Sabka bhai AKA Salman Khan really needs to follow the festive fashion memo and drop his denim jeans for a kurta. Bringing his swag to the red carpet, the actor turned up at the event in a mustard t-shirt, silver chain and light-washed, mustard denim jeans.

Genelia Deshmukh
Mrs Deshmukh chose to go all white for the special evening, but sadly her monumental look fell flat and looked more tacky than stylish. Her ensemble for the evening incorporated a dated, sheer shirt, a matching white lehenga, styled with red lip colour, and a side bun.
Kriti Kharbanda
The actress’ Diwali party look was more appropriate for a bridesmaid-special fit and less festive. Her look featured a slim, pearl blouse, a fishnet lehenga, featuring white embroidery details, and ear studs.
Pashmina Roshan
Hrithik Roshan’s beloved cousin’s sister made a drab fashion choice in a simple lehenga. The actress’ velvet blouse and maroon lehenga was a rather safe and sorry outfit for a celebrity-studded event. Well, we hope to see some experiments from the actress’ side.
