Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant finally tied the knot on Friday, July 12 and the couple was looking regal. From the bride, Radhika Merchant’s custom-made Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla look to the groom Anant Ambani’s custom-made Sabyasachi sherwani, they both complemented each other very well. Styled by Rhea Kapoor, this lehenga has been hand-painted by the Indian artist Jayasri Burman!

Radhika Merchant’s Day Two Look

The bride wore a custom Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla red and Rani pink lehenga. For her first evening as Mrs Radhika Ambani, she chose to bring Jayasri Burman’s paintings to life on her lehenga. The twelve panels of the lehenga are hand-painted on a unique Italian canvas. The garment, which commemorates Anant Ambani’s union with Radhika Merchant via emotionally meaningful imagery, features Jayasri Burman’s signature magical aesthetic. The joyful pair is represented by human figures that exude a celestial atmosphere honouring the divine inside them. Anant Ambani’s love of animals, especially elephants, which are seen as lucky and beautiful, is shown in the fauna. The lehenga also includes a huge trail which looks royal!

Real gold Zardozi is painstakingly hand-embroidered in this exquisite piece of workmanship. In Jayasri Burman’s artwork, even the most detailed regions are covered in a shimmering sea of sequins. These are worn with a Resham fully hand-embroidered blouse by skilled artisans at Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. The outfit captures the happiness of starting over and the thrill of sharing your life with your true love. The green necklace, maangtika, and earrings bring out the colours in the over-all stunning look.

Jayasri Burman’s Comment On The Collaboration

While talking about the look, Burman says, ” Abu Sandeep are artists. The only difference is that their medium is couture while mine is canvas. Both Rhea Kapoor and Abu Sandeep gave me total creative freedom and understand my essence as an artist. I found my brush dancing all over the canvas. My only hope now is that it inspires a smile on Radhika Merchant’s face and maybe someday, we’ll even see it hanging on her wall!”
