Pakistani actress Ushna Shah recently tied the knot with golfer Hamza Amin. For the big fat wedding, the actress chose a red lehenga and regal jewellery to get married. The wedding lehenga designed by Pakistani label–Warda Saleem, featured a tulle skirt in a vermillion red, featuring golden embroidery, teamed with a slim blouse, and a pleated dupatta. She further accessorised the look with regal jewellery, including a waist chain, a studded hair band, earrings and a stack of traditional, bridal chooda.
Like most Bollywood actresses, Ushna’s bridal look resembled the outfits worn by many Indian celebrity bride. While everything looked like a fairytale to us, many of her Pakistani fans took to the internet to troll her choice of bridal lehenga. Yes, as ridiculous as it sounds, most people commented under her pictures and also shared snapshots from her wedding on Twitter, slamming her for dressing like an Indian bride. Some other fans also lashed out at Shah for not promoting Pakistani culture, and instead dressing like an Indian bride.
And while it definitely should not be anyone but the bride’s choice to pick her wedding dress, some users arrived in the comments section to school her. Check out these comments!
Giving a befitting response to the haters, Shah posted an Instagram story and slammed everyone who questioned her lehenga. She wrote–”To those who have a problem with my dress: you weren’t invited, nor did you pay for my shade of red.” She also mentioned that everything was Pakistani, and took a dig at some media channels/cameramen who entered the wedding without any invitation. She also lashed out at a few guests who did not follow the privacy rules mentioned on the wedding invitation, and brought plus one without any permission, recorded intimate moments like the nikah and sold it to media houses as “exclusive content.”
