All The Gorgeous Dresses From The Oscars 2016 Red Carpet!

All The Gorgeous Dresses From The Oscars 2016 Red Carpet!

When Hollywood celebrities make sartorial decisions for the red carpet, you’ll find that their choices for the SAG Awards, Golden Globes and Grammys are extremely different from the ones they make for the Oscars. That’s not to say that these awards shows aren’t important — because they are — but it is at the Oscars that the stars really showcase their red carpet star power.

High fashion houses fall over each other to dress A-List stars, because they understand just how powerful that ONE image is. Millions of dollars worth of advertising is rendered useless in the face of a mega star wearing your outfit and looking like a million bucks in it. An adoring public is hanging on to every word (and outfit detail), ensuring that the brand’s name goes down in fashion history. So while there’s a veritable battle among designer brands to make it to the top of every Best Dressed List, even the stars’ stylists work overtime to land the most-talked-about dress that’ll make headlines across the globe. You see now why the Oscars red carpet is such a big deal?

For us here at Hauterfly, our favourite pastime of checking out celebrity style and beauty pictures goes into overdrive and nothing compares to the glamour at the Academy Awards. This year, we were stunned by the always supremely stylish Charlize Theron and the can-do-no-wrong Cate Blanchett, and our homegirl Priyanka Chopra totally slayed it in that sheer white number too.
