Sonam Kapoor & Anand Ahuja Appoint Nimish Shah As Creative Director Of Bhaane

As Bhaane turns 6, the streetwear brand owned by Anand Ahuja introduces some major changes. For starters, if you haven’t noticed already, the brand has added an extra ‘a’ to the name, making it Bhaane from Bhane. While no one from the team has given a clear explanation as to why the extra ‘a’, the brand has changed their logo and its name on all social media platforms.

After launching an offline store in Delhi and Bombay, the brand is gaining popularity and taking strategic steps towards expanding their presence and collection.

They recently announced that they have appointed Nimish Shah, who is the founder and owner of the label Shift, as their new creative director. Nimish Shah launched Shift in 2011. The Mumbai-based designer champions an innovative approach to creating sustainable fashion products and services.

This appointment will play a strategic role in the company’s expansion plans. Shah will lead the team in the New Delhi head office. He will assume this full-time role in December 2018 and will be responsible for all product developments, experiences and brand identity. His first collection will be released in June 2019. “I am excited to continue the unique culture that has been created at Bhaane. I look forward to evolving house signatures that made customers fond of the brand while contributing a new perspective,” said Nimish about this new stint.

When asked about this new move for the brand, founder of the Bhaane, Anand Ahuja said, “Bhaane is an evolving brand with a contemporary vision. Both Nimish and I are aligned in this vision and excited about the opportunities our market has to offer.”

Sonam Kapoor, on the other hand, said, “I have always admired Nimish’s design and aesthetic and worn his creations frequently over the years. With his penchant for cool vintage and finesse in fashion will expand Bhaane’s rationale while still exciting our loyalist.”
