An icon, a legend!
From Kacchi Kairi Green To Bubblegum Pink, Neena Gupta’s Candy-Coloured Sarees Redefine Power Dressing

Actress Neena Gupta is one of the few Bollywood stars, who have found their personal style. Proving that fashion and style come with no age bar, Gupta is picky about her film scripts and what enters her closet. With great taste, she often welcomes her daughter and ace deigner–Masaba Gupta, to dress her up, and the collaborations always leave us surprised. Amongst the many silhouettes and cuts that Neena ji has in store, she is often seen leaning towards a saree, which is anything but boring. With no place for dull in her fashion dictionary, the actress’ collection of saree designs comes in tangy shades, hot blouses, and mood-boosting potli.

Just recently, the actress shared a new picture on her very engaging Instagram handle, in a bright green saree. Captioned as–Totapari, the actress posed in a saree by daughter Masaba Gupta’s label. Called the Kacchi Kairi acid saree, Gupta styled the look with an equally bright arm warmer blouse. A silhouette she endorsed in the first place, Gupta masterfully styled the look using aubergine bangles and a matching potli. Colour play being her favourite technique to build a look, she actively weaves combinations like these, for most times that she drapes a saree.

Other pictures on her Instagram, are proof enough to narrate her love for acidic shades and bold motifs. When not styling a solid-coloured drape, she makes sure of picking unique print designs, that look bold and stand out. Like the House Of Masaba saree, she wore to her daughter Masaba’s intimate court wedding. This time, Neena ji put her finger on a rather poetic appeal, with a splash of watercolour print in green and pale off-white. She built the entire look with a matching potli bag, tailored out of the same fabric, and an almost invisible, neon green bindi to decorate her forehead.

For other times when she steps out for promotion duties, she makes sure to provide a slice of her signature drapes. For various press tours for films like–The Last Colour, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan and more, the actress chose to wear a blasting bright saree in colours that are most definitely not picked by the Bollywood Gen-Z lot.

While even choosing to wear such striking shades, she puts her love for details in sultry blouses, that throw boring, old-school designs right out of the window. With that, she accessorises the look with more dramatic shades, exuberant bags, and her favourite stack of colourful bangles, which just speak about her confident persona.

This way of dressing in bright colours is somewhat a technique that resonates with Neena ji’s personality. As a woman who refuses to settle for less or blend with the crowd, her sarees, make sure to catch your eye. Somewhat her recipe for power dressing. This unique way of styling bright colours is how Gupta, wears her powers on her shoulders. Well, all we can do is learn from the master herself and hope we look even a per cent perfect like her, while strutting in neon sarees.
