Mouni Roy’s Edited Swimsuit Picture Is Proof That Trolling Can Make Even Confident Girls Insecure!

Like it or not, every single celeb in the entertainment industry has relied on Photoshop to correct their pictures at one time or another. Whether it is a simple colour correction for the eye or the more ‘palatable’ use of the slimming effects, no one is immune to the charms of a photo editing app.  It is worse when pictures of seemingly perfect celebrities are edited to add more detail, which ends up making them look unnatural. The latest celeb to fall prey to this habit is Mouni Roy and it is a bad one!

The actress is all the way over at Dubai for a summer getaway and shared a glammed out picture while lounging by the pool.

The picture is excessively airbrushed to give her a skinnier arm and a slimmer waist. Mouni is naturally quite petite, she has transformed her frame to a considerably slimmed down version than before. The photo editing job is so bad, you can see the blue on the upper arms and midriff. What is the point of making her look so unnaturally skinny, we wonder!

It is one thing to go under the knife and opt to enhance a certain characteristic in your face or sculpt a certain body part. Your body, your choice! But to sloppily edit a hand to make it appear slimmer is quite irresponsible, we think. This obsession, especially in the world of social media, is unhealthy and spreads the wrong message about body positivity.

Mouni has an incredibly fit frame, which she has attributed to her practice of Yoga. It is disappointing that her photographer would choose to modify her in this way. Nobody should be subjected to having their body be treated this way, especially actresses who have a big following of young and impressionable women.

Recently, netizens called out Sonakshi Sinha’s team for editing her pictures in a similar fashion. No, Sonakshi does not need an unnaturally long neck, she is quite perfect in all her curvy glory!

What are your thoughts on the prevalent use of photo editing apps in the fashion and entertainment industry? Is it harmless or should it be regulated? Let us know!
