Kirandeep Chahal Calls Out The Disrespect Indian Models Face During Runway Rehearsals!

In recent times, many professionals from the modelling industry have raised their voices against the injustices and bad treatment that models are subjected to in India. Now, another model from the industry has highlighted the disrespectful manner in which models are treated backstage. This has been raised by Kirandeep Chahal, who has also decided not to do runway shows in India for this reason. Read on to know more about what she wrote.

What Did Kirandeep Chahal Say?

Kirandeep Chahal is a well-known Indian model who recently said something huge about the Indian model industry. She took to her social media to pen a note about what goes on backstage during the rehearsals for a show. Kirandeep highlighted the importance of rehearsals before a show, and how the tone of choreographers matter to either make or break a model’s confidence. She firmly wrote that rehearsals were not meant to ‘instill fear in models’ instead for ‘refining and supporting each other’.

Kirandeep further pointed out that when models spoken harshly with, they only get more anxious before a show. She  highlighted the importance of ‘Respect’ that every person who has collaborated with the Fashion Show deserved to get. Kirandeep also added that her experience with choreographers backstage had been ‘disheartening’. Kirandeep Chahal also confirmed that she will not be doing runway shows in India, particularly with choreographers who show disrespect towards models. She hoped that the industry does better.

Few days back, another model Roshni Sharma condemned the low pay for models in India, and urged models to charge a salary according to their work and experience.
