Manushi Chhillar’s Disappointing Debut Look For Cannes Film Festival Is Saved By Her Dimples

A missed opportunity!
Manushi Chhillar’s Disappointing Debut Look For Cannes Film Festival Is Saved By Her Dimples

Miss World/actress Manushi Chhillar is among the many Indian celebrities who are making their debut at the Cannes Film Festival this year. Walking the carpet, Chhillar turned into a white bride, in a Fovari gown. The bridal couture by Fovari featured a see-through, almost naked corset detail. Attached to the asymmetrical bodice, with ruched detailing is a multi-tier skirt in white.

The ruffled detailing on the white couture silhouette, adds volume to the soft look, and the long train contributes to an elegant red carpet moment. But besides all, the ballroom gown makes up for a boring choice to make a debut at the Cannes Film Festival. Styled using two vibrant shades of emerald and salmon pink, Chhillar added a serpenti neckpiece and a pair of studded heels. She further completed the look with sleek hair and no signs of jewellery.

What disappointed us the most was Manushi’s choice of gown and the ill-fitted colours. With green and pink in place, Chhillar’s tailored gown was a misfit in terms of design for her. Besides the usual fit of the neckline, the asymmetrical waist detailing, followed by ruffles provided an unflattering structure to the entire look. With that, colours emerald and pink, added to the chaos and contributed less in making a statement. A missed opportunity by Chhillar, to represent India, in an Indian designer piece.

And while we sure are proud of her debut at the prestigious film festival, her look was thankfully saved by her stunning smile and dimples. Besides Manushi Chhillar actresses Sara Ali Khan, Anushka Sharma Esha Gupta and actor Vijay Varma are all set to paint the Cannes carpet tricolour, representing India.
