The Embellished Bag On Zahra’s Holiday #LustList!

The Embellished Bag On Zahra’s Holiday #LustList!

Have you heard? Hauterfly has turned 1! (Yay!)

And we’re going to be celebrating the entire month of October. What’s more, considering the festive season is upon us, we’ve decided to forgo our usual Haute List picks of great things to shop online every day for something a little extra special. All of next week, we’re each going to be putting up a luxe #LustList instead. (People who want to buy me presents, you better start saving now.)

If there’s one thing I want to blow up a few months’ salary on this season, it has to be something from Gucci. Ever since its new creative director Alessandro Michele took over the reigns of the Italian luxury brand, the direction he’s taken Gucci in has been nothing short of stunning. There’s retro glamour, relaxed luxury, and quirky touches that have given the brand a much-needed makeover from its overtly sexy days.

And the one piece that tops my #LustList currently is the Dionysus bag. I mean, just LOOK at that beauty.

Gucci Dionysus Embellished Bag

Thanks to his intimate understanding of Gucci’s archives (he was the brand’s accessories designer for many years), Michele has taken the iconic bag style and given it a seriously fun spin. The structured shoulder bag features the GG Supreme canvas with a bubblegum pink suede leather flap peeking through. An ornate tiger head spur closure takes centrestage, and the bead and crystal-embellished appliqués of a star, moon, and heart add a whimsical touch. The bag is finished with a sliding chain strap that can be worn multiple ways, easily transitioning between a shoulder bag and a top handle.

This is definitely a flashy handbag, but my point is, if I’m going to spend a lot of money on something, it had better stand out!
