FDCI X Lakmē Fashion Week: From Aditi Rao Hydari’s Boring Saree To Tacky Trends, 5 Fails From The Runway!
Aditi Rao Hydari, Sharvari Wagh, Dia Mirza, and more donned as showstoppers for the designers!

The Iconic Lakme Fashion Week kick-started on Wednesday in Delhi in partnership with the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI). From streetwear to bridal to all the glitz and glam, everyone and everything was present at the fashion week. The action-packed week had trends, glamour, a gleaming celebrity entourage, front-row snobbery, and so on. We’ve been out on the prowl for all the fashion trends that are going to be trailblazing throughout this season but sadly, some looks just failed to please us. Here are some of them!
1. Aditi Rao Hydari In Tarun Tahiliani
Aditi Rao Hydari became a showstopper for designer Tarun Tahiliani in collaboration with NEXA donning a navy blue saree. As much as the newly married actress was looking beautiful, the garment didn’t look flattering at all on her and in fact, looked very dated. The corset over the blouse looked weird and we expected better from the designer.

2. Shalini Passi For Monisha Jaising
Shalini Passi became a showstopper for Monisha Jaising. Her face card was 10/10 but the blue in the dress didn’t look good. The dress had a weird opening and the earrings didn’t help at all. The shoes were also dated and we wish the look was more structured and put together.

3. Dia Mirza For Samant Chauhan
Samant Chauhan’s design provided a fresh perspective on Indian bridal dress, combining traditional elements with contemporary forms. But showstopper Dia Mirza’s garment looked similar to that of Maleficent’s and the floral print looked incomplete. The big earrings weren’t needed with the heavy outfit.

4. Sharvari Wagh In Pankaj & Nidhi
Actor Sharvari Wagh made her catwalk debut with Pankaj & Nidhi. Wagh wore an extravagant embroidered kimono bomber jacket with an infinity loop from the designers’ newest collection. But the skirt and top didn’t look flattering on her and weren’t justifying the bomber jacket as well.

5. Riddhima Kapoor Sahni For Monisha Jaising
Riddhima Kapoor Sahni walked for designer Monisha Jaising. She wore a silk saree-inspired dress which looked flattering on her but was bland. The garment looked done and the lack of jewellery was noticed.
