Couturiers are increasingly creating contemporary Western designs for the modern Indian woman. One such Bangalore-based brand — Encrustd — is a label that innovates with its chic cuts and traditional embroideries. Launched by Deepa and Vineet Chiarmane, the brand was created to “complement the dynamic lifestyle of the modern woman”.
The debut collection, titled Revolution 2015, is an amalgamation of contemporary designs with detailed embellishments and embroidery. You’ll find everything from a lightweight silk cami with just a hint of beading to midi dresses crafted with Gara embroidery. Looking for a nine to five outfit? Opt for their boot-cut flares in crepe with a tailored blazer that has structured shoulders, recently spotted on actress Amy Jackson. A piece that we find really chic is a vest that is completely beaded with antique metal sequins; a perfect separate to be teamed with a pair of shorts for that rocker chic vibe.
