Ranveer Singh, Kriti Sanon Enjoy A Day Out In Varanasi, Walk For Manish Malhotra Show In Varanasi

Weren’t you surprised to see actors Ranveer Singh and Kriti Sanon reporting to the private airport in the early hours of a Sunday morning? Well, so I was. The actors, dressed in traditional attire, took off to Varanasi for a special evening. Soon, pictures of the two actors seeking blessings at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple added to our curiosities. Kriti in a yellow suit and Ranveer Singh in his silk kurta, were joined by designer Manish Malhotra at the ghat. Posing by the Dashashwamedh Ghat, the two expressed gratitude during media bytes and expressed excitement for this visit.

But wait, what was the real reason behind their short trip? Well, it was actually a special fashion show by designer Manish Malhotra. Paying homage to Indian handloom, Malhotra organised a runway showcase, titled Banarasi Saree – a tapestry of Indian culture and craftsmen. As a part of the two-day event at Namo ghat, Malhotra’s showcase was an initiative by the Indian Minorities Foundation to promote Varanasi’s rich culture in fabric and fashion.

Turning showstoppers for the show, Singh and Sanon looked impeccable and gorgeous in metallic, silk attires. Ranveer picked up a metallic, mushroom-hued silk kurta, teamed with a pair of black dhotis. Kriti on the other hand, was dressed like a Banarasi bride in a red white and gold lehenga.

The saree, and lehenga in red featured elements of Banarasi silk with an innate lustre, exhibiting the texture of this age-old festive fabric. The actress also donned a veil, red bindi and a massive maangtika for the special look.
