Kiara And Alia Wore Similar Gowns To The Filmfare Awards. Kiara Won This Fierce Fashion Face Off

This weekend, while we were Netflixing and binging, the stars stepped in their stylist best for the Filmfare Awards. While it was about celebrating talent and all, it was the fashion of the event that we really caught our eye. The event overall did not have any major fashion moments (sigh!), but one sneaky detail caught our eye. Alia Bhatt and Kiara Advani turned up in gowns that had a very similar vibe.

Alia Bhatt looked beautiful in a Ralph & Russo tulle bustier ball gown with an exposed bodice. There was, of course, the signature bustle and frill fall. Her gown had loud metallic and sequin feels which we think looks a starry night sky!

And then we have Kiara Advani in Shantanu & Nikhil, Swarovski crystals embellished anti-trend metallic, voluminous gown. The gown has pretty scalloped falls that add drama and look super smart.
It’s not strange that people turn up in similar clothing. Honestly, it’s happened to us and we aren’t even famous. But in a fashion face off like this one, we had to pick sides and so we did.
While both actresses look gorgeous in their respective gowns, we are totally crushing on how Kiara slayed hers all night. She looks like she was poured into the dress like a second skin, Alia while looking sexy, just didn’t bring it home for us.

The fit of the gowns is a big element here. Both Kiara and Alia are slender on top, thus, Alia’s fitted bodice while hugging her right, also makes her shoulders look bigger. Kiara’s fitted top, on the other hand, gives her some much-needed material to balance out the heavy bottom of the gown.

The styling of the looks also wins brownie points for Kiara. The sleeked back hair with soft waves falling down her back is in perfect sync with the design of her skirt. And while we also love the occasional messy knot, a few layers on those shoulders could have balanced Alia’s sleek bodice pretty well. Next time, a messy braided bun, maybe?

We can’t stress enough how your mood aesthetic can make or break your outfit! Have a risque gown on? Show us some fierceness. Need to show off your feminine yet bold outfit? Be cheeky. Needless to say, we just loved watching Kiara have mad fun in her metallic gown. We get that Alia might be going for a high fashion kind of vibe but it simply didn’t cut it for us.
