As Kiara Advani Gears Up To Become A Bride, We’re Looking Back At Her Ethnic Looks

Actress Kiara Advani is gearing up to tie the knot with rumoured beau/actor–Sidharth Malhotra. And if we are to believe the buzz around their wedding and details reported by Etimes–the Shershaah co-stars will get married next week in Jaisalmer. With that, our excitement to watch the Bollywood actress in a gorgeous lehenga, walking down the aisle is only getting bigger with time. And while we might have to wait till February 6, to know every designer that the actress confirmed for her wedding festivities, we can already assure it is going to be a colour fest of perfection. Having seen the actress’ taste in Indian ethnic wear, which she often chooses to style herself in, for film promotions, and grand wedding ceremonies of cousins, we’ve loved Kiara’s taste in this specific category.

A keeper of the best designer labels like Manish Malhotra and JJ Valaya, Advani’s selection in traditional silhouettes is also a mix of contemporary cuts, teamed with classic embroideries. Hence, as we wait to watch Kiara walk the aisle, to finally know if it is Manish or Sabya lehenga on her, we are looking back at our favourite Indian ethnic looks on the actress.

Loving Lehengas

For Advani, the idea of a lehenga ranges from geometric prints, and belted waists to feather embellishments. Be it dressing up for her onscreen role in Juggjug Jeeyo or promoting her blockbuster hits like–Shershaah and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 with Sidharth Malhotra and Kartik Aaryan, the actress has provided us with a plethora of inspiration on Indianwear. Advani and her stylist–Lakshmi Lehr have introduced us to some quirky accessories that fit the memo of an Indo-wester look. Besides that, Kiara has also been a keeper of dreamy lehenga skirts and slim cholis that bind the opulence of a big fat Indian wedding, while attending one.

A Moment In Manish Malhotra Designs

Having closed many runway showcases for the ace designer, Kiara Advani also shares a close relationship with Manish Malhotra. This bond has often gone beyond weekend get-togethers and dinners with friends, as she collaborates with the designer on the professional front. Be it attending a Diwali bash or dressing up for film promotions, Advani has worn the designer’s most exquisite pieces. To name a few of our favourites, we present this signature infinity blouse saree in pearl white, a see-through black saree and a dazzling golden number, that she wore in the past year. And we won’t be surprised if the actress wears the designer’s creations for more than one occasion during her wedding weekend.

Festive sets

Another of our favourite thing about Advani’s collection of Indian silhouettes is her eye for detail and the splash of experiments that she brings through a small stack of festive sets. The newest favourite in the category of Indian traditional wear, festive sets have made trends and collected love from various Indian designers and their customers with a variety of designs. In Advani’s case, this obsession towards the silhouette was seen reaching its peak during the promotion tour of her film–JuggJug Jeeyo. The actress, while marketing the film with co-star Varun Dhawan, presented a slice of her character–Naina Khanna, by keeping an enviable mix of classics and contemporary. In her treasure of India-loved silhouettes, were lacy jackets, teamed with flared pants, and slim blouses. She also experimented with modern-day pocketed lehengas, wide-legged pants and head scarves for the brief time she promoted her film–Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 with Kartik Aaryan. These two promotion wardrobes presented to us her nature as an experimenter.

A Keeper Of Flavourful Accessories

For as long as we can remember, Indian jewellery has often been limited to chaandbaalis, a delicate choker, raani haar or a colourful stack of bangles. But with Kiara, the idea of accessorising her ethnic silhouettes is combined with the joy of choosing unconventional pieces that speak of her personal style. Going beyond the boring, Advani’s ethnic looks walk the extra mile to experiment with braid chains, strike a balance with a traditional choker with no sign of earrings or go old-school romantic with floral hair buns. With this, we are sure to watch Kiara in only interesting jewellery pieces on her wedding day.
