Sisters and actresses Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor arrived for producer Karan Johar’s Dhanteras puja this morning. To mark the auspicious occasion, both Kapoor wore a traditional lehenga saree, paying tribute to mom–Sridevi’s Tamilian roots. On Janhvi, we spotted a beautiful lilac saree. The actress’ half-ivory, ivory purple saree featured a skirt in the same shade, which was styled with a purple pallu. Styling it all, Janhvi picked a two-tier diamond and dull gold necklace, matching earrings and a purple bindi to complete the look.

On the other hand, Khushi Kapoor was seen sporting a bright fuchsia pink saree, with a sea-blue silk skirt, teamed with a magenta pallu and a matching gold undertone silk blouse in berry pink. Like her sister, Khushi also accessorised the look with a dainty diamond necklace, and hair pinned at the back.

The interesting aspect about both their looks was the fact that both of them re-wore their old sarees. Pick from Janhvi’s wardrobes, the actress re-wore her purple saree, which was earlier seen during her recent trip to Tirupati, with rumoured boyfriend Shikar Pahariya. Khushi on the other hand, loaned her pink saree from sister Janhvi, which was again worn during a trip to Tirupati.

The idea of rewearing their old sarees, was not only a unique and sustainable way of bringing in the festivities, but also a fun way of paying tribute to the speciality of both the sarees. We love how the sisters chose to restyle the same with modern-day diamonds and kept it minimal with their signature makeup looks.

Present at director Karan Johar’s Dhanteras puja were celebrities Vicky Kaushal, Ananya Panday, Aditya Roy Kapur and Ibrahim Ali Khan, who also walked into the venue, wearing ethnic outfits.
