Katrina Kaif’s Diwali Look Has A Gharara Twist That We Absolutely Love

Katrina Kaif is already shining brighter than the lights and diyas, as she dresses up for a star-studded Diwali bash. In new pictures on her Instagram handle, we spotted the star in a delicate, printed saree that exuded the subtle charm of her personal style. For her first Diwali after marriage, Kaif wisely picked a red ensemble to walk the red carpet with husband/actor Vicky Kaushal.

In the latest string of pictures, the Phone Bhoot actress posed in a red saree, that offered a unique twist. The mustard-boota printed drape from Anita Dongre, featured flared palazzo pants, supporting a slim pallu. The crumpled fabric, exhibited a masterfully marinated mix of delicate appliqué borders, and understated shimmer, forming an overlay. Her voluminous pants/gharara described the opulence of festive wear, hinting at Kaif’s love for comfortable fashion.

Matching the drape was a v-neck blouse, that featured a similar print play. She further styled the look using shoulder-grazing, emerald earrings and a stack of polki and kundan bangles. Sprinkling the look with her subtle glamour, was a basic black bindi, resting on her dewy face makeup, and loosely tonged hair. Kaif made sure to top it all off with a statement ring and a caption that said–”Diwali Shuru.” Keeping her personal taste in festive wear intact, Katrina allowed her love for flowers to rest for a brief while. Besides the elimination of a classic Sabyasachi saree, the Phone Bhoot actress experimented with gharara pants-met-saree style, which indeed was refreshing. What we also loved about her outfit pick was the incorporation of a gold, triangular gotta border, that matched the understated gold lines on the saree fabric.

The actress arrived with husband/actor Vicky Kaushal, who chose a crisp navy blue, kurta set to attend film producer–Ramesh Taurani’s star-studded Diwali party. Besides the newlyweds, celebrities–Varun Dhawan, Shilpa Shetty, Kriti Sanon, Rakulpreet, Ananya Panday, and others marked their attendance at the festive affair.
