This Is Your Sign To Give A Modern Spin To Indian Fashion Like Karisma Kapoor And Poorna Jagannathan

How sexy!

Indian festive fashion has finally found its footing in modern-day romance, with silhouettes and fabrics taking a wild new turn. From silk dresses, and brocade blazers to zardozi collared dresses, there’s a lot more than a saree and suit to explore at an Indian occasion. Well, setting an example of some sort are designers, and their celebrity clientele, who make sure to whip up a new look every now and then.

At the welcome party at Sonam Kapoor’s Mumbai residence for David Beckham, actress Karisma Kapoor, brought an ethnic dress to life. Designed by Anita Dongre, Kapoor’s vibrant number featured a trail of gold sequin-work, embellished with a velvet neckline, and bell-sleeves. Embodying the essence of a kalidaar kurta, Kapoor’s midi-dress became her statement pick for the evening. Styling the same, Karisma picked a stack of gold accessories, with hair sealed into a ponytail and a jazzy potli bag to stuff all her essentials.

Another way of styling India’s favourite silk was presented by actress Poorna Jagannathan. For a lavish Diwali party in the states, Poorna also trusted Anita Dongre. Her spin on the traditional brocade silk fabric was visible in the format of a blazer dress. The shining exterior, marinated with an embroidered bandhgala, replicated the charm of menswear–sherwani, but instead was a dress. Styling the same, Poorna picked up a bronze belt, alongside a pair of shimmer, strappy heels, and simple hoop earrings.
