Did You Know Kareena Kapoor’s Saree For Film Festival Inauguration Has Special Connection With Birth Of Venus?

Kareena Kapoor Khan’s contribution to Indian cinema has been massive and celebrating exactly so, the PVR Cinemas launched Kareena Kapoor Khan Film Festival. Inaugurating the same, Kapoor wore a conceptualised Banarasi saree in gold and black. Designed by Amit Aggarwal, the actress’ designer drape was a pre-loved piece. Taking inspiration from the Hindu concept of re-incarnation, the pre-loved vintage Banarasi sarees into modern structured drapes.

The actress wore the designer’s signature corded drape from our latest couture collection ANTEVORTA. The piece was created by preserving and transforming the traditional textile, honouring its timeless essence while reinterpreting its classic draping style. Like Botticelli’s The Birth Of Venus in a Banarasi, Kapoor was styled by Rhea Kapoor. The actress complimented the silhouette with mismatched earrings and a long, locket chain. She sealed it together with a traditional bindi, and hair tied into a messy bun. Definitely a winner.
