Rani Mukerji is one of the actresses who will never shy away from saying what’s on her mind. She has often gotten the internet’s heat for it but it has not seemingly stopped her from being candid. The actress once again came under netizens’ radar for saying that women should raise their voices at their husbands. She also touched up on family dynamics. Soon after her interview, the actress became a central point of discussion among netizens for the same.
What Did Rani Mukerji Say?
During her chat with Bollywood Hungama, Rani Mukerji talked about how a father contributes to shaping his son’s behaviour. She said that when boys see their mother not being treated well, it empowers them to think that if their mother can be ill-treated, every other girl can be treated the same. She added that fathers need to be responsible for how they behave with their wives at home because that’s what their son sees while growing up. She added that if the mother is treated well and respected, boys will understand that women are supposed to be treated that way in society.
She further said that it starts at home and even little things like a father raising his voice at the mother should not happen adding that mothers should raise their voice at their husbands. The actress further recalled an incident from her school days saying that she had slapped only one boy and the rest of the boys were her friends. Rani added, “And just don’t go and ask my husband what happens to him every day at home.”
Netizens Call Her Out
Social media users called out Rani Mukerji over her statements. A person on Reddit stated that it was not okay for any of the parties in a marriage to raise their voices. People also mentioned that she is a good actress but some of her opinions are not justified. Others simply asked her to stick to talking about her upcoming film Mardaani 3.
As far as Mardaani 3 goes, it will be released on January 30.
