Imtiaz Ali Heroines Gave Us Iconic Fashion Moments: From Kareena Kapoor’s Geet To Deepika Padukone’s Tara!
Jab we met with these character!

Imtiaz Ali has left his impression on us with some wonderful stories. Besides gifting us with some lovely films, the director gave us some exciting female characters to remember. Straight from Geet in Jab We Met to Tara in Tamasha, Ali has given us some memorable characters to remember for both their dialogues and fashion. Even in terms of style, these characters nailed some exciting fashion trends that made a space in our hearts and wardrobes.
Geet From Jab We Met
Kareena Kapoor as Geet from Jab We Met, was an icon. We remember loving Geet’s wardrobe in the film, which incorporated a bunch of colourful salwaar suits, graphic t-shirts and the classic kohl eye look. Not only was Geet’s energy infectious but also her fashion.
Tara From Tamasha
Deepika Padukone’s character in Tamasha not just had an interesting character graph, but provided us with some iconic looks. Like her look in the film’s popular song–“Matargashti,” we all loved her blue denim dress, teamed with a lip-printed white shirt and a brown belt.
Laila Majnu
Another marvellous musical, romantic tale by Imtiaz Ali was Laila Majnu. With Laila essayed by actress Tripti Dimri, we saw a bunch of white ensembles on her, that included a frilled blouse and wrap-around skirts, with silver jewellery.
Meera From Love Aaj Kal
Another cult-favourite film by Imtiaz Ali was Love Aaj Kal, starring Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan. The film by Ali, featured Deepika essaying the role of Meera, who styled some of our favourite looks from the year 2009. The actress’ iconic looks from the movie included red churidaar, ink blue kurta, kolhapuris and tons of denim. Do y’all remember her “Chor Bazaari” look?

Veronica From Cocktail
Very few would know that the 2012 film by Homi Adajania was actually written by Imtiaz Ali. Penning the grey shades of Deepika Padukone’s character as Veronica was another masterstroke by the filmmaker that we loved. Besides loving Padukone in the film, we fell deeply and madly in love with her unique fashion sense, which included micro skirts, sheer dresses, printed pants and of course her caramel-coloured streaks.
