India Couture Week has arrived, bringing with it the buzz and excitement of stunning designs and celebrity showstoppers. Actors Wamiqa Gabbi and Taha Shah Badussha turned showstoppers for Asal & Mard by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla at the Hyundai India Couture Week, in New Delhi on July 24. The opening show was a visual feast, displaying the designer duo’s signature styles against a massive Haveli-inspired backdrop, all set to the vibrant music genre of Disco Mujra. The intricate fine jewellery by G.K. Chudiwala beautifully complemented the garments, adding to the evening’s grandeur.

Taha Shah’s Show-Stopping Look

Taha Shah Badussha, described by the designers as the hottest man in India, stole the spotlight with his first ensemble, which perfectly combined traditional elegance with modern sophistication. He wore an olive silk tissue long kurta that shimmered under the runway lights. This kurta was adorned with intricate crystal-encrusted flying bird appliques, meticulously crafted to create a dazzling effect. Each applique was positioned to enhance the garment’s fluidity and movement, making Taha appear almost ethereal as he walked. Paired with this exquisite kurta were brocade flared pants. The brocade added a touch of regality and texture to the outfit, balancing the silk tissue’s delicate sheen. The pants’ relaxed fit contrasted beautifully with the structured kurta, embodying a fusion of comfort and luxury that is central to Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla’s design philosophy.

Second Look: Opulent and Regal

Taha’s second appearance was no less mesmerizing. This time, he donned a pair of brocade pants, rich in texture and intricate detail. The pants were paired with a dramatic textile drape that featured extensive Zardozi embroidery. This ancient embroidery technique, known for its lavish and intricate patterns, added depth and opulence to the ensemble. The drape, flowing gracefully as he moved, was a standout piece, showcasing the designers’ commitment to reviving traditional craftsmanship. A matching Zardozi belt cinched the drape at the waist, adding structure and a touch of grandeur. The belt not only complemented the embroidery on the drape but also served to highlight Taha’s fit physique, contributing to his princely appearance.
